Here are the top three stories today in Savannah:

  1. The Savannah Philharmonic has appointed a new Chorus Master. Paul Thornock will prepare the organization's chorus for performances under the direction of Keitaro Harada. He has extensive choral experience, including 16 years as a diocesan music consultant with Saint Joseph Cathedral in Columbus and two choral CD recordings. (Savannah CEO)
  2. The Savannah Hilton Head International Airport warns of additional flight cancelations. The cancellations are due to a number of factors, but the most impactful one is likely a shortage of flight crew members. Any flight delay causes a domino effect throughout the industry. The airport reports that it has enacted measures to reduce cancellations, such as having additional staff on the ground. (WTOC)
  3. A Jul. 4 Savannah walking tour showcased the contributions made by enslaved people. The tour was meant to highlight the significance of slavery during the country's independence. The tour leaders want to clearly state that the tour was not in protest of Independence Day. The tour leaders hope to conduct the walking tour for years to come. (WTOC)
