  1. The Savannah Boat Parade of Lights announced its 2022 event raised $9,000 for the Greenbriar Children's Center. The event is usually held on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Funds raised during last year's event for the children's center will support children in need in the community. (Savannah Tribune)
  2. Police Chief Lenny Gunther was recently sworn in as Savannah's permanent chief of police on Jan. 10. Chief Gunther had been serving as interim police chief since Jul. 29, 2022. The decision came after a national search process. (Savannah Tribune)
  3. Two filming projects in Savannah are hosting an open casting call this weekend. Casting crews will be hosting a casting call on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Goodwill on Sallie Mood Drive for feature film "Origin" and TV series "Fear The Walking Dead." (WTOC)
