- Savannah was ranked among the most creative cities in the United States. A new report by Workamajig named Savannah the 14th most creative city in the country. Workamajig analyzed each city’s number of museums, Cannes Lions Winners in 2022, artists, musicians, creative jobs, and the number of film and music festivals per capita. Across the state, Atlanta was named the most creative city in the country. (Savannah CEO)
- The United Way of the Coastal Empire and WTOC hosted a telethon for children's literacy yesterday. The telethon is part of the Read United program, a year-round initiative of summer reading programs, reading buddy programs, and a partnership with WTOC to raise money to provide books to young students across Southeast Georgia. (WTOC)
- The Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) workforce reached a significant safety milestone: Five million safe hours. “Safe hours” are the hours worked without an occupation-related injury or illness resulting in the employee’s inability to return to work the next day. Experts and statistics indicate a company of this size could expect at least 12 injuries significant enough that the employee would be unable to return to work the next day. SRMC has experienced none. (The Times and Democrat)
