Savannah is a place like no other. And whether you grew up here, recently moved to the area or you’re just an occasional visitor, you know that Savannah has its own special traditions and history that make it so unique.
A few things to know:
- Did you know that Savannah is home to the oldest public art museum in the South? The Telfair Museums boast an impressive collection of American and European art and is spread out over three buildings, each with its unique charm and history. Make sure to visit the Jepson Center, which is a contemporary art museum that hosts various rotating exhibitions throughout the year.
- Savannah has been voted one of the most haunted cities in America. The city's long and tumultuous history has left behind many ghost stories and legends that are sure to send shivers down your spine. Take a ghost tour of the city and you may even catch a glimpse of a specter or two.
- Savannah has the largest National Historic Landmark District in the United States, covering 2.5 square miles.
