  1. Savannah Mayor Van Johnson gave an update on the state of homelessness across the coastal empire at his weekly news conference on Tuesday. The annual report provides a snapshot of homelessness in the area and across the country and takes place during the last week of January. Mayor Johnson said the homeless authority did an intensive canvassing of Chatham County, identifying 80 locations as places where people were living that weren’t fit for “human habitation." (WTOC)
  2. Savannah police are searching for a 54-year-old man. Tony Rice was last seen on Jan. 26 on the 900 block of East 31st Street. He is 5 feet 8 inches tall, 260 pounds, and has a gray lowcut hairstyle and gray goatee. Rice was last seen wearing a blue one-piece jumpsuit. (WTOC)
  3. Savannah Hilton Head International Airport recently broke a travel record as over 3.5 million passengers traveled through the airport last year. This record is up 27 percent from 2021 and 500,000 more travelers than the previous record set in 2019. This is great news for post-pandemic travel. (WJCL News Savannah)
