  1. The Super Bowl isn't the only big thing going on this Sunday. Did you know that the City of Savannah will turn 290 this weekend? On Feb. 12, 1733, General James Edward Oglethorpe founded America’s first planned city. When he designed it, Oglethorpe laid it out in a series of grids to make the city functional and provide plenty of green space. Twenty-two of the original 25 square he planned still exist. (WTOC)
  2. There are four new glass recycling drop-off sites in Savannah. Following January's new glass recycling program, the City has added four more places to recycle glass, bringing the total up to six. In addition to the sites at the Bacon Park Transfer Station and Dean Forest Landfill, residents can now drop off their glass at Barnes Restaurant, Capital Street Fire Station, Congregation Agudath Achim, and Coffee Bluff Fire Station. (WSAV-TV)
  3. You may see a Savannah native on "America’s Got Talent" soon. Flau’jae Johnson, a Savannah native known for her talent in the studio and on the basketball court, signed to Jay Z’s record company Roc Nation with a distribution deal last year. "America’s Got Talent" asked her to come back as one of their all-stars this week. Read more about Johnson's path to achieving her dreams at the link. (WTOC)
