Here are the top three stories today in Savannah:

  1. Art & Object, a fine arts news magazine, has ranked the Savannah College of Art and Design as the top art school in the country. The ranking was given based on a number of factors such as degree variety, school reputation, tuition cost, and the area's art scene. According to the publication, SCAD has more programs and specializations than any other art school in the country. (fox28media.com)
  2. The grandfather of Quinton Simon, the 20-month-old toddler that went missing on Oct. 5, was fatally struck by a vehicle on Wednesday morning. Henry "Bubba" Moss Sr. was located on the roadway in the 9900 block of Highway 23 between Claxton Road and Brigham Landing Road by the Burke County Sheriff's Office. Anyone with information regarding the hit-and-run incident is asked to contact the department. (Savannah Patch)
  3. The Savannah Police Department reports that school zone speed cameras are working as intended. There has been a 59 percent decrease in speeding in Savannah school zones since the department began the 30-day warning period on Oct. 5. The department will begin issuing citations for speed camera violations today. (fox28media.com)
