  1. Nearby Bluffton has announced its new police chief, Joseph “Joe” Babkiewicz. Babkiewicz will begin serving as chief on Dec. 29. Before his new position, he served in law enforcement for 20 years, including 13 at BPD, and in the private industry. (Live 5 News WCSC)
  2. The Savannah Police Department is currently searching for an elderly woman who went missing on Dec. 1. Pamela Byrd, 65, was seen at the Greyhound Station wearing a brown cardigan and jeans. According to police, Byrd often visits the park at Yamacraw and E. 38th Street. (WSAV-TV)
  3. The Savannah Fire Department rescued a man stuck in a chimney at the Budget Inn on Ogeechee Road on Thursday. According to SFD, they do not know how long the naked man was stuck, but they estimate it to be at least a few hours. The man has not been charged with anything so far. (WTOC)
