- The Savannah College of Art and Design has a research initiative to address the lack of trees in less affluent neighborhoods, recognizing their numerous benefits. Through their SCAD SERVE and Design for Good programs, they are using design thinking and student involvement to make a positive impact on the community. Students involved in the project have expressed that trees aid in maintaining health and reducing noise. (WJCL News Savannah)
- In the fall of 2023, MONOPOLY: Savannah Edition will be released, featuring locally themed squares that pay tribute to Savannah, Georgia. The game will include customized "Community Chest" and "Chance" cards and squares dedicated to the city's landmarks. - A three-vehicle crash on Abercorn Street involving a semi-truck, a pickup truck, and a car is being investigated by the Savannah Police Department. The incident caused the closure of all westbound lanes of Abercorn Street for hours at Mercy Boulevard. The crash happened before 6:00 a.m. and the initial investigation showed that the pickup truck driver from Garden City hit the tractor-trailer from behind. (WTOC)

- The warm weather in Savannah has led to early blooms of azaleas, making them a beautiful backdrop for weddings, and potentially speeding up wedding plans for those who have recently become engaged. Spring and fall are typically the busiest times of the year for weddings in Savannah. (WTOC)
- SCAD is hosting a concert called BAM! (Black Artists in Music) on Feb. 28 at the Buckhead Theatre in celebration of Black History Month and Georgia Day. The event highlights the musical talents of African American artists from Georgia and promises a bigger and better show than in previous years.
