  1. City leaders of Savannah and community partners are working together to help the unhoused stay safe and warm during this dangerously cold weekend. They've opened numerous warming shelters around the city which will offer shelter for homeless residents. The Day Center at Grace House on Fahm Street will be open Friday, Saturday, and Monday. The Emergency Warming Center at the Tompkins Community Center on Ogeechee Road will open if temperatures drop below 20 degrees. They will open Friday through Sunday. (WJCL News Savannah)
  2. The Savannah Airport is struggling due to the incoming weather and large numbers of travelers. Several airlines have reported delays as long as five hours, while other flights were canceled. Multiple airlines are already offering customers vouchers ahead of more delays and cancelations. The governor issued a State of Emergency on Wednesday. (WJCL News Savannah)
  3. The Savannah Humane Society is holding its annual Silent Night foster program this holiday season. The program gives pets the opportunity to spend a few days with a loving foster family away from the shelter — many of which end up finding their forever homes. Over a dozen pets are involved in the program. They will either be adopted or returned to the shelter by Dec. 27. (WSAV-TV)
