- The Savannah African Art Museum will be offering workshops to honor and celebrate ancestors, family traditions, trailblazers, and the earth. Lisa Jackson, the education community outreach liaison, noted the museum is "excited about [the] upcoming workshops and events planned for this year which features the launch of a new exhibit and new collaborations." The free three-part series will be hands-on and will run from February to April on the second floor of the museum's Upbeat Village Terracotta Gallery. (WSAV-TV)
- The historic Holland House, a homestyle cooking restaurant that has been around for 50 years, is closing its doors later this month. Owner Chris Sturgess explained limited parking spaces, a tight kitchen, increase of customers, and lack of staff were deciding factors in the decision to close this location – though there may be a chance the restaurant moves to a new location. Customers shared their love for the food and even suggested possible commercial spaces for Holland House to move to. (WJCL News Savannah)
- The Savannah Country Day School announced a Faculty Explorations lecture series that will take place every Tuesday in January and February, featuring various seminars from Upper School teachers for the larger Savannah community. The lectures are open to the public and will take place at the Savannah Country Day School. Seminar topics include Einstein's thought experiments regarding light, how American music has created change or promoted American culture throughout the 20th century, the art of rhetoric, an examination of Civil War artifacts, and biological facts and their complexity.
