Here are the top three stories in Smyrna-Vinings today:

  1. Advance voting starts today, Oct. 17, in Cobb County. Some Cobb County residents will be voting on whether to incorporate a City of Mableton. Advance voting will be offered at a dozen locations throughout the county. Click for a complete list of locations and Nov. 8 General Election information. (Cobb County Courier)
  2. Bulky Trash Amnesty Day will be on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 8:00 a.m. at Smyrna Public Works. This free event will be accepting a variety of items including toys, mattresses, carpets, and mirrors. Visit the city’s website for the list of accepted items. (City of Smyrna)
  3. Cobb County will be experiencing temperatures below freezing on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The alert was provided by the National Weather Service on Sunday. The below-freezing temperatures will potentially freeze sensitive vegetation. (Cobb County Courier)
