Here are the top three stories today in Smyrna-Vinings:
- The Cobb County School district has announced that modifications have been made to the district's alert system. The modifications were necessary after one staff member was able to able to trigger a lockdown at 11 county schools this week. The modifications will, hopefully, ensure that the incident will not occur again. (The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
- The Atlanta Medical Center's Wellstar Primary Care will be relocating to Smyrna. The facility will be moving to 4441 Atlanta Road SE, Suite 26. The movie will be made on Nov. 14. Wellstar has been preparing for weeks to completely close the Atlanta Medical Center. (Patch)
- The Cobb County Medical Examiner's Office is currently investigating a body that was discovered on Friday morning at a construction site. The body was found at the Ajax Construction area in Acworth when officers responded to a welfare check around 10:00 a.m. The Office is working to determine the cause of death. (11 Alive)

- The Smyrna Public Library will be hosting Autumn Slime on Oct. 18 for the Tweens: Creativity Club. The activity is meant for children between eight and twelve years of age. (City of Smyrna)
- College Football Saturday will be on Saturday, Nov. 5, at Smyrna Market Village at 3:00 p.m. There will be games, prizes, music, and more. (City of Smyrna)
