- The deadline to apply for American Rescue Plan Act funds through Cobb County is Friday. The county is distributing $147 million through the program. The funds will be used for community health, support services, economic development, county infrastructure, and public safety projects. Click to submit an application. (Cobb County)
- Municipalities within Cobb County are slowly removing curbside recycling from their list of services. The most recent removal was done by the City of Powder Springs and it went into effect on Aug. 31. The City of Smyrna still offers curbside recycling through its Sanitation Division. - The Cobb County Police Department is investigating a pursuit that led to the death of innocent bystander Jonathan Denham, 41 years old, on Friday night. The incident occurred on Interstate 285 near the Cascade Road exit when the car a suspect fleeing from Cobb County police was driving slammed head-on into Denham's car in Fulton County. The crash is being reconstructed by the Georgia State Patrol. (Fox 5 Atlanta)
