Here are the top three stories in Smyrna-Vinings today:

1. The Atlanta Braves managed to tie the National League Division Series on Wednesday night. Braves' Kyle Wright was able to out-pitch Smyrna's Zack Wheeler. The Braves managed to win Wednesday's game 3-0 at Truist Park. The series will now be switching to Citizens Bank Park for two games. Tonight's game starts at 4:37 p.m. (Fox Sports)
2. Smyrna-Vinings residents are being encouraged to get the flu vaccine. According to state health officials, the 2022 flu season is starting early. The Southern Hemisphere reported one the worst flu seasons since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Residents as young as six months are eligible for vaccination. (WSBTV)
3. Cobb County election officials report that absentee ballots have been mailed. The update was provided through the county's social media accounts. The county also reports that its poll workers have been trained for advanced voting. Thirteen Cobb County locations will be offering advance voting beginning on Monday, Oct. 17. (11Alive.com WXIA)
