Atlanta Road Bridge Work to Affect Smyrna, Vinings Traffic

Work will last from Friday night to Monday morning, GDOT says.

Weather permitting, Georgia Department of Transportation contractors will work overnight to set beams for the Atlanta Road Bridge. Work will require continuous lane closures and traffic paces on I-285 and lane closures on Atlanta Road.

The work is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m., Friday, October 2 and last until 5 a.m., Monday, October 5.

Two southbound lanes on I-285 at Atlanta Road will be affected by the work, while one eastbound and on westbound lane on Atlanta Road will close. Traffic will always remain in one direction. Traffic paces on I-285 southbound between Paces Ferry Road and Atlanta Road.

Motorists are advised to slow down and proceed with caution through this area; workers and heavy equipment will be in close proximity to the roadway.
