Auto Theft Suspect Arrested Near Cobb Galleria Centre
Police say they were forced to use their tasers on the suspect.

A man is in custody after Cobb County police say he attempted to steal a car from the Galleria area with two associates on Wednesday night.
A man called 911 at approximately 6:22 p.m. and told the dispatcher he believed he’d just seen three black males stealing a vehicle, department spokeswoman Alicia Chilton told Patch. The caller was able to identify both the color and the model of the stolen vehicle and another vehicle used by the suspects.
Officers canvassed the area and discovered both the stolen Ford F-150 and the suspects’ vehicle driving one behind another, Chilton said. An officer spotted the two vehicles, at which point the driver of the Ford bailed out of the vehicle and fled on foot.

After the suspect began running a way, the officer radioed in that he was in a foot pursuit; Chilton said she wasn’t sure whether the officer had time to turn on his flashing blue lights and initiate a proper traffic stop before the foot pursuit began.
Police pursued the fleeing suspect and were forced to use their tasers to subdue him, according to Chilton. He was arrested on Cobb Parkway near Interstate 285 and taken into custody.
