Bicyclist Hit by Car in Smyrna Area

A man is at Grady Memorial Hospital Friday night after Cobb County police say the bicycle he was riding on was struck by a vehicle.

The incident occurred on Atlanta Road and Pine Street, department spokeswoman Alicia Chilton told Patch. The bicyclist suffered a severe leg injury and had to be life flighted to Grady for treatment, Chilton said.

There is no word on any possible charges yet, according to Chilton.

Chilton expects to release more information on the incident later tonight or tomorrow, she said.
