Update: Cobb Parkway Reopens

It had been closed due to a bomb threat.

Cobb Parkway has reopened, according to WSB-TV.

It had been closed due to a supicious package in a shopping center near the intersection of Cobb Parkway and Akers Mill Road.

The package was later detonated.

Update, 4:57 p.m.

Cobb Parkway remains closed in both directions near Akers Mill Road due to a bomb threat.

The threat was made at a AT&T store located in a shopping center near the intersection of Cobb Parkway and Akers Mill Road, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Stay away from the Cumberland Mall area.

Cobb Parkway is closed in both directions near Akers Mill Road.

"Bomb threat," said Sgt. Dana Pierce, a spokesman for the Cobb County Police Department. "No information available yet due to it being an active situation."
