'Bring One for the Chipper' is Saturday
The free Christmas tree recycling event will be held between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., according to Keep Smyrna Beautiful.
SMYRNA, GA -- Smyrna residents who still have a live Christmas tree in their family room can dispose of it during a free recycling event this weekend.
“Bring One for the Chipper” is hosted yearly by Keep Georgia Beautiful and its subsidiary local organization, Keep Smyrna Beautiful. This year’s recycling will be held on Jan. 2 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the Home Depot in Vinings.
Please remove all lights, ornaments and stands, and do not bring wreathes or garland. Wreathes and garland are not recyclable and can be thrown away with your household trash.

The first 250 tree recyclers will receive a free dogwood seedling, and free seed packets for spring planting. Free truckloads of fresh wood chips are also available from Davey Tree Experts
