Cobb Hit-And-Run Injures Pedestrian; Driver Sought

The pedestrian was crossing the road outside of a marked crosswalk when he was hit by a Chevrolet Silverado that fled the scene, police say.

SMYRNA, GA — Police say they are searching for a Chevrolet Silverado believed to be involved in a hit-and-run that injured a pedestrian Saturday at South Cobb Drive and Waldrep Circle.

Cobb County Police on Monday said they are seeking the whereabouts of the newer model Silverado after the hit-and-run around 7:15 p.m. at South Cobb.

A male of unknown age was crossing the road outside of a marked crosswalk when he was hit by the Silverado, which was heading northbound at South Cobb near Waldrep, police said.

The pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, police said.

The truck continued northbound and fled the scene after the crash, police said. They said they believe the Silverado sustained front-end damage, specifically in its grille.
