Chef Hugh Acheson's Restaurant At The Battery Atlanta Has Closed

SMYRNA, GA -- One of the South's top celebrity chefs has closed his restaurant at The Battery Atlanta, next to SunTrust Park. Chef Hugh Acheson has closed Achie's, which was inside the Omni Hotel, after only 10 months of operation. The hotel said Achie's will eventually be replaced by another restaurant.

Acheson still operates Empire State South and Spiller Park Coffee in midtown Atlanta, as well as several other concepts.

Achie's was named after Acheson's grandfather, reports Tomorrow's News Today. A hotel representative confirmed the closure, but did not disclose any other details.

Acheson, a Top Chef judge, still also operates two other Battery Atlanta locations as well: Punch Bowl Social and First & Third Hot Dog Shack at the ballpark itself.
