First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta is now accepting applications for the 2026 cohort of its Epiphany program, a faith-based social entrepreneurship incubator supporting startups tackling today’s most pressing challenges. Epiphany is an evergreen initiative that equips entrepreneurs developing innovative solutions to social issues with funding, mentorship, and strategic guidance. If you are an emerging founder with a vision to address societal challenges often overlooked by traditional markets, Epiphany offers the resources needed to help your venture grow. Examples of qualifying ventures include businesses that employ formerly incarcerated individuals or adults with developmental challenges, as well as enterprises offering services such as coding training for refugees or mechanical skills development in low-income communities. Since its launch, Epiphany has awarded nearly half a million dollars in grants and supported multiple successful ventures, including Refuge Coffee Co., PadSplit, and Purposeful Gourmet Foods. AUSTELL, GA — A person accused of shooting to death two people in Smyrna turned the gun on themselves and died in Austell Thursday, Cobb County Police said. Police said the person, who was not identified, shot and killed two people at a South Cobb Drive business before fleeing in a vehicle. All three people knew each other, police said. The person's vehicle was found using Flock cameras near the intersection of East-West Connector and Powder Springs Road in Austell, police said. Police added the vehicle was found as the person was headed toward Macland Road and Ernest Barrett Parkway. "The incident concluded as officers attempted to stop the vehicle when the suspect stopped and took their own life," police said in a news release. The two people who died were not identified. A motive in the fatal double shooting is unknown.
