Cobb Shooting Kills 2; Suspect Dies By Suicide
Two people died in a Smyrna shooting Thursday with the shooting suspect taking their own life afterwards in Austell.
AUSTELL, GA — A person accused of shooting to death two people in Smyrna turned the gun on themselves and died in Austell Thursday, Cobb County Police said.
Police said the person, who was not identified, shot and killed two people at a South Cobb Drive business before fleeing in a vehicle. All three people knew each other, police said.
The person's vehicle was found using Flock cameras near the intersection of East-West Connector and Powder Springs Road in Austell, police said.

Police added the vehicle was found as the person was headed toward Macland Road and Ernest Barrett Parkway.
"The incident concluded as officers attempted to stop the vehicle when the suspect stopped and took their own life," police said in a news release.

The two people who died were not identified. A motive in the fatal double shooting is unknown.
