College Football Player Charged With Sexual Battery: ICYMI

The Campbell High School graduate had been playing football at the University of Illinois but has since been suspended.

A college football player has been suspended from his team after he was arrested and charged with aggravated sexual battery in Smyrna, police said.

Julian Malcolm Jones, recently a linebacker at the University of Illinois, has been under police investigation since Oct. 18, when officers first learned of a ”sexual battery that occurred between two teenage friends,” Smyrna police said in a statement.

Police spokesman Louis Defense told Patch he understands that Jones attended Campbell High School despite having a Mableton address during his high school days.
