Cosby Victim's Attorney Barred from Cobb Performance, Lawsuit Claims

Gloria Allred and others were denied entry to a Bill Cosby performance, according to lawsuit.

A high-profile attorney involved in one of several sex assault cases against Bill Cosby claims she was barred from entering a Cobb County performance in May even though she had a ticket, according to a lawsuit filed in federal court Wednesday.

Gloria Allred represents a woman who claims Cosby forced her to perform a sex act. The lawyer claims she was threatened with arrest for trespassing after she was told she wasn’t allowed into the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre to watch Cosby’s May 2 show, according to the complaint obtained by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution

The lawsuit names Cobb County and the Cobb-Marietta Coliseum and Exhibit Hall Authority, which owns the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre as defendants. The suit seeks a court order which would prevent venues from blacklisting ticket holders based on their viewpoints, according to the AJC.

Allred was outside the venue before the show started speaking at a pre-show protest showing solidarity with the alleged victims and their versions of events, the AJC report says. When she tried to use her ticket to get into the show, Cobb police allegedly refused her entry.

The complaint says that police told Allred she was on a list of some 70 people Cosby’s representatives didn’t want inside the venue. The list was allegedly complied with the help of Cobb County police. Allred allegedly had no intentions of protesting if she’d been allowed inside.

Approximately 12 people, including Allred, were turned away from the doors because of their prior support of alleged Cosby victims, the complaint says.
