Ex-Smyrna Child Care Worker Accused Of Body Slamming 1-Year-Old
Jonee Hamilton allegedly slammed a toddler's head into a mat, causing the child's lip to split and bleed.

SMYRNA, GA -- A former worker at a Smyrna child care facility has been arrested after allegedly shoving a toddler's head into a mat because the child failed to go to sleep. Jonee Hamilton, 20, is charged with aggravated assault and child cruelty stemming from the alleged incident on Nov. 28, 2018.
Hamilton had been employed at Oxford Babies on Church Street when she allegedly took a 16-month-old child and shoved the child's head into a mat. Hamilton then allegedly picked up the toddler and slammed the child with so much force onto the mat that it cut the child's inside lip. The injury bloodied the child's shirt, police said.
The childcare business then fired Hamilton, police said, and after Smyrna police investigated and found a video of the incident, issued a warrant for her arrest.
