Man Shot, Killed In Cobb Apartment Drug Raid
One man was shot in the Cobb County Sheriff's Office SWAT team's drug raid Thursday morning at Concord Chase Apartments in Smyrna.
SMYRNA, GA — One man was shot and killed by police Thursday morning during a drug raid at Concord Chase Apartments in Smyrna, Georgia Bureau of Investigation officials said.
Around 4:41 a.m., Marietta Cobb Smyrna Organized Crime Task Force agents and the Cobb County Sheriff's Office SWAT team executed a narcotics search warrant at the Smyrna apartment complex, according to a news release from the GBI. Upon entering the apartment, a SWAT team member fired his gun and the man inside the apartment was shot. He was transported to Wellstar Cobb Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
It is unclear if the SWAT team member fired his gun intentionally.

"The GBI will continue its independent investigation of the officer involved shooting. Upon completion, it will be submitted to the Cobb County District Attorney's Office for review," the news release said.
