Atlanta heat broke records on Halloween, with temperatures expected to stay near 80 degrees for most of the week. Here's the latest.

ATLANTA, GA — We saw record-breaking high temperatures on Halloween — beating the record by four degrees in Athens. Records will continue to be threatened for the next few days before fall temps finally appear ready to wrest control of the season.
Tuesday's high is expected to reach 80 degrees, just under the record. Wednesday and Thursday will also have a high near 80 degrees, with winds climbing toward 10 mph Thursday.
Cooler temps will follow a chance of showers Thursday night, with the high Friday staying in the 60s and a high Saturday near 70 degrees.

From there, we'll get a few days reaching 74 degrees, before we enter a string of days closer to 70 degrees.

Thursday: Patchy fog before 7am. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 80. Light west wind increasing to 5 to 10 mph in the morning.
Thursday Night: A 20 percent chance of showers before 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 54.
Friday: Sunny, with a high near 69.
Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 70.
Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 74.
Monday: Sunny, with a high near 74.
