Here are the top three stories today in Smyrna-Vinings:

1. The Smyrna City Council has approved furnishings for the downtown green space redevelopment project. Approval was granted for shade sail components and custom shade structures during the Monday council meeting. Click to view the approved furnishings. (Cobb County Courier)
2. Cobb County will be celebrating Truck-A-Palooza on Saturday at the Town Center Mall in Kennesaw. This family-friendly event will feature police cars, fire trucks, construction vehicles, dump trucks, and more. There is a five-dollar fee per person. The max fee is $20 for each family. The event's proceeds will be used to support the Cobb County Safety Village. (Subscription: AJC.com)
3. Tomorrow, Oct. 22, Vinings will be hosting the Party for Preservation. The event is widely considered the area's "party of the year." Participants will be enjoying the fall weather while supporting the historic Pace House from 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Tickets start at $125 and can be purchased at this link.
