- The Cobb County International Festival returns this year on Saturday, Aug. 27 at Jim R. Miller Park! - Cobb County Animal Services Shelter will remain closed for several weeks due to a confirmed case of "Strep Zoo." Staff proactively quarantined a portion of the shelter when a dog suddenly became ill, later confirming the canine's diagnosis. As of Saturday, no other animals have displayed symptoms; nonetheless, the shelter will administer antibiotics and conduct a thorough cleaning before reopening. (11Alive.com WXIA)
