SMYRNA-VININGS, GA — Independence Day is quickly approaching, which means it's time to fire up that barbecue and find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on in and around Smyrna-Vinings for 2023.

July 4 Festivities

What: Marietta's 4th in the Park Celebration

Where: Historic Marietta Square and Glover Park, Marietta

When: 10 a.m.-9:30 p.m., July 4

The 4th in the Park celebration includes a parade and a festival with free live concerts, arts and crafts show, food, carnival games and fireworks finale.

Marietta city officials released the event scheduled, as follows:

• 10 a.m.: Let Freedom Ring Parade
• 10 a.m.-9 p.m.: Festival
• Noon: Concert featuring Scott Thompson
• 2 p.m.: Bell ringing ceremony
• 2:30 p.m.: Atlanta Concert Band
• 7 p.m. Concert featuring The Patriarchs Band
• 8-9:30 p.m.: Concert featuring Boogalicious

A fireworks show will follow once dark.

Per the organizers, the parade route will start at Roswell Street Baptist Church and will travel west on Roswell Street, north on East Park Square past Glover Park and the Marietta Square, down Cherokee Street and ends at North Marietta Parkway. The end of the parade marks the start of the festival.

What: Kennesaw's Salute to America

Where: 2829 Cherokee Street, Kennesaw

When: 6-10 p.m., July 3

Per the city, there will be two stages of live music, festive street entertainment, food vendors, activities for children and a kids parade. At 9:30 p.m., a fireworks display can be viewed from Adams Park, Depot Park or Main Street.
