Karen Handel Releases Her First Ad In 6th District Campaign
BREAKING: Republican Karen Handel releases first digital ad, targeting 30-year-old frontrunner in 6th District.

COBB COUNTY, GA -- Karen Handel on Thursday released the first ad in her campaign to represent Georgia's 6th District in Congress. In the one-minute-plus spot titled "Lightweight Liberal," the former Secretary of State takes aim at frontrunner Jon Ossoff.
“Liberals from California to New York are flooding our airwaves and mailboxes in a pathetic attempt to replace a great public servant, the Hon. Tom Price, with a Democrat aide that doesn’t even live in the 6th Congressional District," Handel said in a statement.
Handel joins Democratic candidate Ron Slotin and other candidates in attacking Ossoff, who has gotten some of Washington's most powerful Democrats to get behind him.

In the ad, Handel strikes the theme that Washington's establishment is propping up the campaign of Ossoff, who she calls "hand-picked by Nancy Pelosi."

"As a longtime resident of the district, I’ll work hard to ensure that our representation isn’t auctioned off to Nancy Pelosi and Hollywood big wigs who think they know better," Handel said. "My record of delivering results and getting things done will stand in stark contrast to my opponent’s record of producing propaganda for Al Jazeera and advising his employer on the potential dangers of Guam tipping over in the Pacific.”
Eleven Republicans, five Democrats and two Independents are running for office in the 6th District, which comprises the north Atlanta suburbs, including parts of DeKalb and Fulton, stretching over into Cobb.
The special election to replace Price, appointed last month as the nation's health secretary, is slated for April 18. Unless a candidate wins a 50 percent-plus-one majority, the two top finishers will hold face off in a June 20 runoff election.
