- In response to the pressing health issue of opioid overdoses around the country, multiple metro Atlanta school districts are stocking up on Narcan, a medication that rapidly reverses the effects of an opioid overdose. Nearby Fulton County Schools is the latest school district to announce it is stocking up on the drug, and 11Alive checked in with multiple metro Atlanta school districts to see what other schools have Narcan available. In Cobb County, a district spokesperson said they've never had to use the medication in its schools, but the district is partnering with Cobb and Douglas Counties. (11Alive.com WXIA)
- Over the last week, 31 people have added their names to the ballots for mayor and city council down the road in the new city of Mableton. The new city's residents will be electing their first mayor and city council in March. (Cobb County Courier)
