In Loving Memory of Elizabeth Katherine Nied Wesley, 81

Elizabeth Katherine Nied Wesley, born August 2, 1934 in Atlanta, Georgia passed away in her home on December 28, 2015 with her family by her side. She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Ottis Hawthorne Wesley, Jr; daughter, Maria Cobb Wesley of Atlanta; son and daughter-in-law, Ottis Hawthorne Wesley, III and Vera Wesley of Las Vegas, Nevada and grandson, Nathaniel Wesley also of Las Vegas; brother, Dr. William Nied and Shirley of Doraville; sister-in-law, Cecile Dobson of Cartersville, Georgia and a large number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Wesley was a member of the Sacred Heart Class of 1952 and a graduate of St. Joseph’s School of Nursing. She also did graduate work at LSU in New Orleans. In the 50’s, Mrs. Wesley helped develop open heart surgery as an operating room nurse in Houston, Texas. She was a long time member of the Atlanta Sky Hi Club and is a member of Christ The King Catholic Church. She always worked unselfishly for others around her to take care of their needs as a nurse, mother, wife or friend. She will be missed greatly. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Cathedral of Christ The King Catholic Church, 2699 Peachtree Road, Atlanta, GA. 30305 with Monsignor Frank McNamee officiating. Burial will be at West View Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8 :00 p.m. Friday, January 1, 2016 at the funeral home.
