In Loving Memory of Juanita Elizabeth Carter, 91

Juanita Elizabeth Carter, age 91, of Smyrna, passed away Thursday, December 10. A funeral service will be held 10 am Monday, December 14 in the chapel of Carmichael Funeral Home in Smyrna with Rev. Clayton Mixon officiating. A graveside service will be held at 3 pm Monday, December 14 in Dublin, GA at the Dublin Memorial Gardens. A native of Dublin and graduate of Dublin High School, she lived in Atlanta and worked for the Red Cross, later serving her country as one of the “Rosie the Riveters”. She retired in 1987 from the V.A. after many years. She was a longtime member of Beechhaven Baptist Church in Athens, and was currently a member of Vinings First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Waymon Dewitt Carter. She is survived by her son Steven Dewitt (Pam) Carter of San Antonio, TX, daughters Kathy (Rev. Clayton) Mixon of Kennesaw, Lisa Carter Lariscy of St. Simons Island, GA, sisters Estelle Reece of Dunwoody, Jean Cordero of Conyers, 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 2-5 pm Sunday, December 13 at the funeral home.
