Man Convicted Of Killing Smyrna Officer In 2020 Crash: Report

The man was found guilty of first-degree vehicular homicide and other charges, a media report says.

SMYRNA, GA — A 38-year-old man accused of killing a Smyrna police officer in an April 2020 accident was recently convicted of first-degree vehicular homicide, failure to yield and other charges, Fox 5 Atlanta reported Thursday.

The outlet reported Robert Lorenzo Cox was found guilty of killing Officer Christopher Eric Ewing in the crash at South Cobb Drive, near Interstate 285.

Cox was also convicted of open container and tampering with evidence, the outlet reported. He will be sentenced in June.
