Man Shot 3 Times In Smyrna Ambush: Police
BREAKING: Man shot 3 times outside Smyrna apartments, not far from Monday's slaying at Carrabba's in Cumberland.

SMYRNA, GA -- Police are investigating a shooting in Smyrna after reports that the gunman hid behind a vehicle before opening fire, Patch has learned. Gunfire erupted Thursday morning outside the Jasmine at the Galleria apartments on Cumberland Way.
The victim, a 28-year-old male, was reportedly leaving his apartment when he was ambushed. The shooting happened not far from a Carrabba's restaurant, where a man was killed earlier in the week during a transaction that began online. In this latest shooting, Smyrna police told WSB-TV that the man was shot three times but is expected to survive. When reached by Patch, Smyrna police spokesman Sgt. Louis Defense said: "Nothing new on our investigation and I haven't heard anything about our victim's medical status."

The gunman is described as wearing a black shirt and hat and faded denim, Defense told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “Until we take this bad guy off the street.. he’s a danger to other people. He showed a reckless disregard for human life in this apartment complex this morning.”
The victim was rushed to WellStar Kennestone Hospital and is expected to survive, the newspaper reports.
