New Townhomes Coming To Smyrna

Development will be on 3.3 acres on King Springs Road and South Cobb Drive.

SMYRNA, GA -- New townhomes are headed to Smyrna, thanks to the approval of the City Council.

The council voted the go-ahead on Monday, according to Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The development will be located at King Springs Road and South Cobb Drive on about 3 acres, the newspaper reports. The townhomes will cost around $345,000.

One resident expressed dismay with the project.

“To see eight per acre … absolutely is appalling to me,” Alex Backry said, according to the Journal. “I’ve had many people say that they’re building in this city and packing the houses in like, pardon the expression, sardines. I live on a half-acre plus. I couldn’t imagine seeing another four homes on my half-acre. Eight acres a home with 26 homes — where’s the privacy? I don’t understand it. This is an extension of Atlanta.”
