Not Much Local Impact Expected From Winter Storm
There may be some precipitation, but temperatures are forecast to be well above freezing.

PEACHTREE CITY, GA -- DeKalb, Cobb and Fulton counties are on the far southern edge of a winter storm that forecasters expect to blow into the region throughout Wednesday night.
A winter storm warning from the National Weather Service went into effect at 7 a.m. for extreme north Georgia, and a winter weather advisory remains in effect through 1 am Thursday for an area north of Atlanta, extending through the Rome and Cartersville areas.

A combination of snow, sleet and freezing rain could make travel dangerous throughout much of north Georgia during that time.
Wednesday night’s low temperature throughout our local communities is expected to be in the mid to high 30s, with a 70 percent chance of precipitation. Thursday’s highs are forecast to be in the mid to upper 40s, with another 70 percent chance of rain.

No public school closings have been announced in DeKalb, Cobb, or Fulton counties or the city of Atlanta.
