Here are the top three stories today in Smyrna-Vinings:
- A local Cobb County audiologist is warning residents about over-the-counter hearing aids. The Federal Trade Commission has recently changed its rules to allow retailers to sell hearing aids. Dr. Erin Rellinger, an audiologist at Eye Consultants of Atlanta Hearing Center, warns that the new hearing aids at retailers could be more expensive than hearing aids dispensed by a professional. Long-term hearing needs will likely still require an audiologist. (Cobb County Courier)
- Crown Bakeries has opened its newly renovated space in Smyrna. The 200,000-square-foot facility was renovated by Stellar Construction and designed by Box Studios. The project includes a newly renovated manufacturing space, expanded research areas, and a new innovation lab. The facility will be offering collaborative programming to engage consumers and brands. (Baking Business)
- Smyrna's Bryan Spann has been charged with distributing child pornography — again. The Cobb County Police Department reports that he has since been released on bond. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children was notified about Spann's actions twice — once in November 2021 and again in May 2022. (WSBTV)
