Police Shooting Blocks South Cobb In Smyrna
Dozens of officers are on the scene of the police shooting Wednesday near South Cobb Drive and Windy Hill Road.

SMYRNA — Officers are on the scene of a police shooting Wednesday near the intersection of South Cobb Drive and Windy Hill Road, Cobb County Police said on X, formerly Twitter.
Several patrol cars can be seen blocking the roadway on South Cobb, with drivers having to use alternate routes. Specific details are unknown.
Smyrna Police said around 8:15 p.m. that South Cobb was shut down both ways between Windy Hill and Benson Poole Road. The estimated time for it to reopen is three hours, police said.

Fox 5 Atlanta has a news chopper at the scene, showing traffic backed up for miles.
Channel 2 Action News, which also had a news chopper at the scene, reported witnesses heard multiple gunshots in the area.

Shortly after 8 p.m., the Georgia Bureau of Investigation told Patch agents were en route to the scene. Cobb County Police requested the GBI investigate the shooting.
