Meet a local realtor who knows the numbers — backwards and forwards.

Imagine you had a realtor who could help you really understand the economics behind the biggest financial decision of your life.

That realtor would probably have an MBA in Finance, and years of experience working for large corporations that apply financial rigor to every decision. Ideally, she’d also have expertise in negotiating big, high-stakes contracts — to help you get to a successful close.

Here are the top three stories today in Smyrna-Vinings:

  1. A research project led by students uncovered a noteworthy political shift in Cobb County and other Atlanta suburbs in Georgia, transitioning from Republican to Democratic. This shift is not solely driven by demographics but also carries significance for the upcoming 2024 election. Cobb County, in particular, has experienced a shift towards the Democratic Party, despite having similar racial demographics as the state average, while boasting higher education levels, income, and lower poverty rates. (Cobb County Courrier)
  2. Last week, a swastika drawing was discovered on the wall of a bathroom at an elementary school in Cobb County. Senior Rabbi Dan Dorsch of Congregation Etz Chaim assisted the school's principal, emphasizing the importance of addressing empathy and concern with the students. The school district promptly removed the offensive image and initiated an investigation, while urging parents to talk to their children about appropriate behavior and respect. (WSB 95.5)
  3. The City of Smyrna is hosting a free business workshop on Aug. 14 called "Making News: Communicating your story through the media without cost." Presented by Allan and Cathy Lipsett, publishers of The Bright Side newspaper, the workshop will cover topics such as determining newsworthiness, crafting messages, choosing appropriate media outlets, writing press releases, and more. This workshop is beneficial for individuals in roles such as small business owners, non-profit leaders, and community leaders. (City of Smyrna)
