Here are the top three stories in Smyrna-Vinings today:

1. A Real Housewives of Atlanta star was spotted in Smyrna. Reality TV star Sheree Whitfield was spotted with her alleged boyfriend Martell Holt on a trail in the suburbs of Smyrna on the morning of Jul. 25. Some social media users doubt the couple's relationship, though, and wonder if the relationship is part of a publicity stunt to promote their respective shows. (Ace Showbiz)
2. Smyrna Public Safety Foundation helped present at the final installment of the Civilian Response to Active Shooters event series last night. The Smyrna Police Department's month-long series of safety classes for the community took place between 6 p.m. to 8 p.m each week for a month. Last night, the event culminated in staying safe in public where an active shooter is present. SPD presented the CRASE method of responding to an active shooter event. 3. Possible hazardous weather is coming to Cobb County. Yesterday's isolated thunderstorms were just the start of some upcoming hazardous weather. Be on the lookout for a climbing heat index going forward into next week and plan events and outings accordingly. (Cobb County Courier)
