Here are the top three stories in Smyrna-Vinings today:
- Cobb County Animal Services is offering a special adoption deal through the end of this month. For just $20, all dogs above 25 pounds and all cats can be adopted. The special deal is part of the shelter's effort to find all of its animals' new homes. Click to find your new best friend here. (Cobb County Courier)
- The National Weather Service issued a flood watch for Cobb County over Labor Day weekend. The flood watch was in effect between Sunday morning and Monday evening. Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp declared a State of Emergency for Chattooga and Floyd Counties. (Cobb County Courier)
- Fuel blending of hydrogen and natural gas was successfully validated in Smryna. The demonstration occurred at Georgia Power's Plant McDonough-Atkinson and is the first in North America for 20 percent hydrogen fuel blending. The demonstration reduced carbon emissions by about seven percent. (Bic Magazine)
