Riverview Landing Construction Underway
The $300 million mixed-use project promises scenic views along the Chattahoochee River.

SMYRNA-VININGS, GA -- Construction has begun on a $300 million mixed-use site that will use the Chattahoochee River as its backdrop, according to a report.
Site improvements for Riverview Landing began last month with contractors working on Riverview Road, the Marietta Daily Journal says. The improvements to the road include underground infrastructure and aesthetic and walkability improvements like lanscaped medians, wide sidewalks, and bike lanes.
Developers Jamestown, LP say that Riverview Landing will be an 88-acre, $300 million planned community that will have over 150 single-family homes, 850 apartments, over 300 townhomes, and over 160 condos.

In addition to the residential aspect, Jamestown anticipates construction of 190,000 sq. ft. of commercial space, including retail space, restaurants, and office and self-storage facilities.
The land for the development was annexed by the CIty of Smyrna in November 2013; at the time, Jamestown said construction could start in 2014 with a summer 2015 opening date. Delays with acquiring the right-of-way on certain roads caused a delay to the start date.

Work on the road should end in the fall, but Smyrna Councilman Ron Fennel tells the MDJ that he doesnāt think there will be too many traffic headaches caused by the road work.
According to a 2013 memorandum to the city council from the community development department, Jamestown expects construction of the entire project to take between 10 and 20 years.
