Shooting, Other Incidents at Campbell High

Last week wasn't a good one at Campbell High School, according to Cobb County criminal warrants.

There was an on-campus shooting March 3. And at least one student was arrested Thursday, Friday and Saturday in connection with unrelated incidents.

The shooting did not take place on a school day and did not involve students. Sometime between 6:50 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. March 3, Javier Solis of Marietta pulled out a semiautomatic handgun and fired one round in the direction of Hilmer Quintanilla, authorities wrote in a warrant. He also punched Quintanilla in the face, which caused his right cheek bone to swell. Solis was arrested March 5 on charges of aggravated assault, simple battery and possession of weapon or explosive compound in or near a school, school function or school bus. He was released the next day.

Records also show that:

• Eriq Jamal Williams was arrested Thursday in connection with a fight with another student. He faces a misdemeanor affray charge.
• Brianna Christine Porter was arrested Friday on a charge of terroristic threats after authorities said she threatened to "beat ... down" a male student if he snitched on her.
• And Derek Demeilus West was arrested Saturday, just days after an administrator found a pill bottle that had the odor of marijuana in his backpack and a razor blade in one of his side pockets. He faces a charge of possession of weapon or explosive compound in or near a school, school function or school bus.

With the exception of Porter, who is being held in lieu of $5,000 bond, the students have been released.
