🌱 Sinkhole Closes Marietta Sidewalk + Students Injured During Fight

Here are the top three stories in Smyrna-Vinings today:

1. A sinkhole has closed part of the sidewalk and the shoulder of a street in front of the Sprayberry Square Shopping Center in nearby Marietta. The sinkhole reportedly formed from a failed joint in a drainage pipe. Officials said that repair work will begin when the weather clears up. (East Cobb News)
2. A fight between two students at a Cobb County middle school injured both the attacker and another student on Tuesday. The incident reportedly happened at lunch, and officials said that the student who started the attack may face criminal charges. (WSB-TV)
3. Madonna announced that she will be performing in Atlanta for the first time in seven years. The iconic performer will visit Atlanta during her 40th-anniversary tour, stopping at the State Farm Arena on Tuesday, Sep. 5. Tickets go on sale on Jan. 27 at 10:00 a.m. via Ticketmaster.
