Smyrna Arts & Cultural Council Announces Fall Concert Schedule

Modern bluegrass, New Orleans jazz and European folk orchestra acts are featured.

SMYRNA, GA — The Smyrna Arts & Cultural Council has announced its fall Jonquil City Sessions schedule.

The concerts feature nationally-touring artists in a coffee house-comfortable, table-and-chairs setting, with full food and cash bar service. Local performers are also presented.

The concerts are hosted at the American Legion Music Hall in Smyrna and seating is limited to 154 attendees who must be 21 years of age. General admission tickets with table seating are $22 and available at www.SmyrnaACC.org and at the door on the night of each show.

The Slocan Ramblers

Rooted in the tradition, creative, and possessing a bold, dynamic sound, The Slocans (2015 Edmonton Folk Fest Emerging Artist Award recipients), have built their reputation on energetic live shows, musicianship and their ability to convert anyone within earshot into a lifelong fan.

Matt Lemmler Jazz Combo

  • Recently elected Governor for the GRAMMY Recording Academy, Matt Lemmler is considered to be one of the most original musicians to recently emerge from the birthplace of jazz. Influenced by the music he heard growing up in New Orleans, Matt Lemmler is a noted and accomplished jazz pianist, vocalist, producer, arranger and educator. He is among an elite group of musicians recognized and officially designated as a “Steinway Artist” by piano manufacturer Steinway & Sons.
Balalaika Fantasie

  • December will feature a holiday-themed performance. The musicians of Balalaika Fantasie. draw their inspiration from their life-long passion for Russian folk music and their diverse cultural backgrounds. Performing on authentic Russian folk instruments, the group’s repertoire includes Russian, Ukrainian, Gypsy and Jewish folk music.
