Smyrna-based Decks & More Wins Two NARI Atlanta CotY Awards

Smyrna-based Decks & More (www.decksandmore.biz) has won two NARI Atlanta Contractor of the Year (CotY) awards for outdoor living spaces created in Brookhaven and Buckhead. The first award was given for a screened porch with fireplace and lower-level covered patio in the CotY Residential Exterior $100,000-$200,000 category. The second award was for a screened porch with fireplace and deck in the CotY Residential Exterior Under $100,000 category. Both awards were presented at the NARI Atlanta (National Association of the Remodeling Industry) year-end gala celebration. www.nariatlanta.org

“The CotY is our most prestigious award, and signifies the highest professional recognition from industry peers,” said Kathryn Stempler, executive director of NARI Atlanta. “Each year, NARI members submit their projects for a panel of NARI professionals outside of Atlanta to judge. Awards are given for outstanding work of the highest quality in each award category. The winners then have the option of entering their winning projects into NARI’s regional and national CotY competitions.

Screened Porch and Lower Level Covered Patio -- The goal of the two-level project ($100,000-$2,000) was to create two beautiful outdoor living spaces for a home in Buckhead. The new screened porch on the main living level features a custom fireplace built from reclaimed brick, with a TV mounted above. The room boasts a vaulted, tongue and groove ceiling and easy access to the terrace level yard and new covered patio via a new staircase. At the lower level landing pad, Decks & More added pavers accented by dwarf mondo grass and mulch. Recessed LED lighting throughout the two spaces helps to visually tie them together.

Screened Porch and Deck -- The new screened porch and deck (Under $100,000) created for a homeowner in Brookhaven, features a hand-chiseled, stacked-stone fireplace with a custom mantle above. The porch floor is a custom wood tile, while the adjacent decking is laid in a herringbone pattern. The bead board ceiling and LED recessed lighting throughout create an elegant and welcoming entertaining space.
