Smyrna Church Gifts New Car to Family Injured in Freak Accident
Vinings Church members gifted Deanna Baldwin a new car after a freak crash left the mother and her son in the hospital during the holidays.

Members of Vinings Church in Smyrna have rallied around a woman who was seriously injured in a freak accident in Smyrna four weeks ago by giving her and her family a much needed Christmas present.
Deanna Baldwin has been in a coma since a sports car drove off an overpass near Dixie Avenue and landed on top of her minivan around 7:45 a.m. Dec. 1, according to Officer Chris Graeff with the Smyrna Police Department.
According to a GoFundMe page seeking to raise money to help offset costs for the Baldwin family, Deannaās sons Jonathan and Michael were in the car with her and also suffered injuries. Within 15 days, the page has raised over $26,000 of its $30,000 goal.

Vinings Church pastor Justin Craig said after the crash left the Baldwins without a car, members of the church who knew the Baldwin family well proposed giving the family a Ford Expedition, WSB-TV 2 reports.
Baldwin is the orchestra teacher at Smyrnaās Whitefield Academy and has been the sole breadwinner for the family for a number of years due to her husbandās medical issues, the GoFundMe page says.
